ਬਿਜਲੀ ਮਹਿਕਮੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੇਡ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੇ ਗੇਟ ਹਕੀਮਾਂ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਅਨੰਦੀ ਫਤਿਹ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਲੋਨੀ ਦੀ ਗਲੀ ਨੰਬਰ 8 ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਚ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਈ ਖਪਤਕਾਰਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਮੀਟਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਕਮਰਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

ਕਈ ਖਪਤਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਲੋਡ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਧਾਇਆ, ਜਦ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਡ ਦੇ ਮੁਤਾਬਿਕ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ, ਇਲੈਕਟਰੀਕਲ ਗੈਜਟ ਵੱਧ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਗੀਜ਼ਰ, ਇੱਕ AC, ਕਈ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ-ਦੋ AC ਵੀ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਆਪਣਾ ਲੋਡ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਧਾਇਆ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਅੱਜ ਕੱਲ ਈ ਰਿਕਸ਼ਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਚਾਰਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਪਰ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਈ-ਰਿਕਸ਼ਾ ਚਾਰਜ ਕਰਕੇ, ਉਸਦੇ ਰਿਕਸ਼ਾ ਚਾਲਕਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪੈਸੇ ਵਸੂਲਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਜਦਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ 600 ਯੂਨਿਟ ਮੁਆਫ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਵਸੂਲੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਕੁਝ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਚੋਰੀ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਏ, ਜਿਸ ‘ਤੇ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਐਸਡੀਓ ਧਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉੱਚ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੇਡ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੇ ਗੇਟ ਹਕੀਮਾ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੀ ਫਤਿਹ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਲੋਨੀ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੇਡ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਦਰਜ ਕਰ, ਭੇਜੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਜਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਉਸਦਾ ਗਲਤ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਗਲਤ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ।

The Electricity Department is carrying out raids across Amritsar. As part of these operations, senior officials conducted a check on Street Number 8 in Anandi Fateh Singh Colony, located in the Gate Hakima area. During the inspection, it was discovered that many consumers are using their household meters for commercial purposes.

Several residents have not updated the load on their meters, despite installing additional electrical appliances in their homes. For example, some homes have geysers, air conditioners, and even two AC units, but have not adjusted their meter load accordingly. Additionally, many e-rickshaws are being charged at residential locations, where individuals are charging these rickshaws and collecting payment from rickshaw drivers.

While the government provides an exemption of up to 600 units, there have been reports of electricity theft as well. In response to this, SDO Dharminder Singh stated that the raids are being carried out under the direction of higher authorities. The operation in Fateh Singh Colony has led to the registration of multiple reports, which have been forwarded for further action. He emphasized that the government’s provisions for domestic electricity use should not be exploited for illegal activities.
