ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਵੱਡੇ ਖ਼ਤਰੇ ਦੀ ਘੰਟੀ, ਮੰਡਰਾਉਣ ਲੱਗਾ ਇਹ ਸੰਕਟ

 ਮਹਾਨਗਰ ’ਚ ਡੇਂਗੂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਰ ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮਾਹਿਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਬਦਲੇ ਮੌਸਮ ਦੇ ਸੁਭਾਅ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੱਛਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਸਿਰ ਸਾਵਧਾਨ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। 

ਵਰਣਨਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਨਵਰੀ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਤੋਂ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਹਸਪਤਾਲਾਂ ’ਚ ਡੇਂਗੂ ਦੇ 22 ਪਾਜ਼ੇਟਿਵ ਮਰੀਜ਼ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦੋਂਕਿ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ’ਚ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਇਕ ਵੀ ਮਰੀਜ਼ ਦੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਡੇਂਗੂ ਦੇ ਮੱਛਰ ’ਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਯੋਜਨਾਬੱਧ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸਿਲਸਿਲੇ ’ਚ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਾਇਨਾਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੱਛਰ ਦੇ ਲਾਰਵੇ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਡੇਂਗੂ ਦੇ ਮੱਛਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਅ ਲਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਸਮੇਂ ’ਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੱਛਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਆਸਾਰ ਬਣ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੱਛਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਅ ਲਈ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਆਸ-ਪਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਛੱਤ ’ਤੇ ਬਾਰਿਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਦੇਣ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਡੇਂਗੂ ਦਾ ਮੱਛਰ ਸਾਫ ਪਾਣੀ ’ਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਕਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਡੇਂਗੂ ਦੇ ਮਰੀਜ਼ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਫੌਰਨ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਚਿਤ ਕਰੋ।

ਕੀ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਜਾਣਬੁੱਝ ਕੇ ਮਰੀਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਾਜ਼ੇਟਿਵ ਜਾਂ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਛੁਡਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਨ

ਮਹਾਨਗਰ ’ਚ ਡੇਂਗੂ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਉਣ ’ਤੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵਿਚ 36 ਦਾ ਅੰਕੜਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ’ਚ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਪਾਜ਼ੇਟਿਵ ਮਰੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ’ਚ ਪਾਜ਼ੇਟਿਵ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਕ੍ਰਾਸ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੈਗੇਟਿਵ ਕਰਾਰ ਦੇ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ’ਚ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਿਤ ਮਾਪਦੰਡਾਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਹੀ ਮਰੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਜ਼ੇਟਿਵ ਹੋਣ ’ਤੇ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਜ਼ੇਟਿਵ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਸੈਂਪਲ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ’ਚੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਮਰੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਨੈਗੇਟਿਵ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਹੀ ਜਾਣੇ।

ਜਦੋਂਕਿ ਸਿਹਤ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਪੈਸੇ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਚੱਕਰ ’ਚ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਮਰੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡੇਂਗੂ ਪਾਜ਼ੇਟਿਵ ਦੱਸ ਕੇ ਇਲਾਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਧਾਰਣ ਬੁਖਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਇਰਲ ਦੇ ਮਰੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕਈ ਗੁਣਾ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਪੈਸੇ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਚੱਕਰ ’ਚ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂਕਿ ਕਈ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਇਹ ਕਹਿਣ ਤੋਂ ਗੁਰੇਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਕਿ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਆਪਣੀ ਐਫੀਸ਼ਿਐਂਸੀ ਦਿਖਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਚੱਕਰ ’ਚ ਮਰੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਘੱਟ ਦਿਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸੇ ਚੱਕਰ ’ਚ ਬੀਮਾਰੀ ਮਹਾਮਾਰੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

Experts are predicting that the dengue outbreak in the metropolis could arrive earlier this year, owing to the rapid changes in weather patterns. They believe that these unpredictable weather shifts could lead to an earlier emergence of mosquitoes. As a result, heightened caution is being advised. Since January, hospitals have reported 22 suspected cases of dengue, though the health department has yet to officially confirm any positive cases. However, officials assure that measures are being taken to combat the spread of dengue, including the deployment of specialized teams to search for mosquito larvae. Public awareness campaigns are also underway, urging citizens to take steps to protect themselves from dengue mosquitoes.

One official emphasized that, at present, mosquitoes could be breeding inside people's homes. To prevent this, individuals are advised not to allow any water to collect around their homes, especially during the rainy season. This includes standing water on roofs, as dengue mosquitoes breed in stagnant, clean water. If a dengue case is identified in a particular area, residents are encouraged to immediately report it to the health department to enable a swift response.

On a related note, there has been ongoing speculation about the accuracy of dengue diagnoses in hospitals. Some have raised concerns about whether hospitals are deliberately diagnosing patients as dengue-positive for financial gain, or if the health department is working to minimize the reported number of cases. In the hospitals, when a patient is confirmed positive for dengue based on prescribed criteria, the diagnosis is reported to the health department. However, the health department often cross-checks these reports and may label many cases as negative, even if they were previously confirmed positive. 

Hospital administrators assert that they strictly follow established protocols when diagnosing dengue, ensuring that only truly positive cases are reported. They believe the discrepancy arises because the health department is responsible for validating these reports, which could explain why some patients are later declared negative. Health department officials, however, suggest that hospitals may be overstating cases of dengue in an attempt to profit, especially when dealing with viral illnesses or normal fever cases that are misidentified as dengue. On the other hand, some hospitals contend that the health department deliberately downplays the number of reported dengue cases to maintain an appearance of efficiency, which inadvertently downplays the severity of the outbreak.

This ongoing discrepancy has raised concerns about how the situation is being handled, as conflicting interests between hospitals and the health department seem to obscure the true scale of the dengue threat.
