ਜੇਕਰ ਮਹਿੰਗਾਈ ਭੱਤਾ (DA) 2% ਵਧਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ 18,000 ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਬੇਸਿਕ ਤਨਖਾਹ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਤਨਖਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਮਹੀਨਾ 360 ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਵਰਤਮਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਸਨੂੰ 53% ਡੀਏ ਦੀ ਦਰ ਨਾਲ 9,540 ਰੁਪਏ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ 2% ਵਾਧੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਇਹ 9,900 ਰੁਪਏ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਜੇਕਰ 3% ਵਧਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਕੁੱਲ ਡੀਏ 540 ਰੁਪਏ ਤੋਂ ਵਧ ਕੇ 10,080 ਰੁਪਏ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਨਖਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਫਾਇਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
Central Government Likely to Announce 2% DA Hike for Employees and Pensioners Before Holi
In a significant development, the central government is expected to announce a 2% hike in the Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for over 1 crore central government employees and pensioners today, March 12, ahead of the festival of Holi. The final decision on the increase will be taken after a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Currently, DA stands at 53%, but this could rise to 55% with the anticipated 2% increase. Some employee organizations, however, have been pushing for a 3% hike, which would raise the DA to 56%. The decision regarding the percentage increase will be finalized during the cabinet meeting.
The DA is revised twice a year, on January 1 and July 1, but the announcement is typically made later. The most recent DA hike occurred in October 2024, when it was raised by 3% from 50% to 53%.
Impact on Employee Salaries
If the DA is increased by 2%, employees will see an increase in their salaries. For example, an employee with a basic pay of Rs 18,000 will receive an additional Rs 360 per month, bringing their total DA from Rs 9,540 to Rs 9,900. If the DA hike is 3%, the increase will be higher, with the DA rising by Rs 540 to Rs 10,080, benefiting employees with a direct boost in their monthly earnings.
The government’s move is expected to provide relief to employees and pensioners, particularly in the face of rising inflation, and is likely to be welcomed ahead of the upcoming festival season.
